Snow, snow, everywhere.

As I sit here in Igls Austria (just up the hill from Innsbruck)...

...about to go out and slide in weather so warm that you sweat in just your speedsuit and the ice is so soft we are almost swimming instead of sliding...

...and hearing about the horrible storms back home in the USA from coast to coast (Brad spent 8 hours in Seattle yesterday waiting for the rest of the Intercontinental Cup team to arrive after DRIVING one of their flight legs!)...

...I thought I'd share our Christmas storm in Park City.

The Thursday before Christmas we had a crazy storm. Driving to work in the morning was the worst commute I'd had in the 5.5 years of working there....

and then, the drive home in the afternoon was the worst by a factor of 10! In one day.

My car got plowed in.

Snow up to the running boards.

My boot, buried.

My car is awesome, but it still took me about 5-10 minutes of backing up and going forward, rocking the car, swerving, until I got out. Taking a picture of the aftermath was worth getting out and walking back in the snow, and thankfully the storm had lighted up for a moment:

Then it kicked right back into blizzard mode, and the freeway was awful.

No, I'm not being (too) dumb - when you are going 20 mph it's easy to take pictures!

Semis were parked all along the road - in the travel lane since there was no longer a shoulder!

The plows hadn't made it to our neighborhood. (I passed 3 cars stuck in this, but couldn't get a shot of them since their headlights blinded the camera.)

After my 1+ hour (usually 20+ minutes) commute, my trusty car was grateful for a garage:

The holiday weekend was certainly a white Christmas, the hills being much more covered and lovely than usual.

Anyway, best of wishes to everyone back home weathering the storms.
