Christmas Break, 2010. Ahhhhhhhh....
With only a just-shy-of-3-weeks-break between first and second halves of the World Cup tour, and having two holidays in the midst, our Christmas / New Year time was a bit crazy!
Brad and I both got home on Sunday the 19th, 5 days before Christmas! We had to hurry and get the tree up, but first Jean Luc needed some festivity.
Isn't he cute?
I don't think this was what he had in mind after missing us for so long. Does he look a bit let down?
He was still willing to help with the tree.
Then Brad kept getting distracted.
But we eventually got it up. It was super pretty, especially since Jean Luc helped again with the lights.
I just realized we never got a picture of the whole thing, whoops! Oh well.
Christmas Day we lounged around and opened presents.
Brad spoiled me horribly with a new sewing machine - I think he got tired of hearing me cuss to and beat at the old one when trying to fix speedsuits. :) I just love it!
Jean Luc ate the card that some of his doggie friends sent him.
Then went outside to rub his face in the snow.
New Years Eve we went to dinner with some friends, and let's just say we ate well. :)
I thoroughly enjoyed my present from Brad's parents, a new Coach purse! Awesome! And wore the necklace he brought me from Venice. I felt so classy, unlike the usual me hah!
During the break, we also tried to see friends we hadn't seen in a while, and went to a movie and drinks. A cold spell had hit Park City, so Lis and I sat inside the restaurant while the boys went to get the cars, yay! They look so nice and bundled up, don't they?
I also went curling - yes, curling. Some girlfriends and I tried it a few months ago, and had so much fun that we started a team for a hobby. It surprised me how fun it is, but trust me, it's definitely worth a try.
Our team is called the Ice Maidens, and this is our official uniform.
In other Christmas news, our washer died on Christmas Eve. It came with the house and is about as old as Brad and I, so we didn't even bother fixing it. Instead, we took advantage of the holiday sales and got a new nice one for a good price. Taking it to the basement sucked...
But the dryer kicking the bucket a week later sucked more. Ouch, a punch in the gut! But I guess the silver lining is that a) they match now, and b) the dryer was at least lighter going down the stairs! Heh.
Last random picture...Brad was coming home from errands, and Jean Luc grabbed a toy and RACED over to the door and stared at it fixedly until Brad opened it. It was so cute...
Ah, I miss them both here in Europe!
