November 16th Biking
With all the stress going on for the last month, trying to finish school and keep up at work and prepare to go to Europe, I decided to take up Connie's invite to go biking with a couple people a morning last month. Alas, the pictures stayed on my camera until today, so you're getting a late post!
I needed the break from the same same trio (skeleton, work, school), and downhilling for an hour or two sounded heavenly.
It was a crisp morning, since we wanted to ride while the ground was frozen, so hoodies and warm clothes were in order. We took the dogs - they are so excited:
Jean Luc needs a haircut, and I need a tan:
We made two laps on the new Draper downhill trail before the mud started to thaw and we had to call it a day to avoid rutting up the trail. Well, the humans and one dog made two laps; Jean Luc is out of shape since his mommy (me) doesn't have time to take him running / hiking / skiing as much. Terrible! (He made about 4/5 of a lap before he petered out and I had to coast slowly behind him the rest of the way, but had a blast then rode in the truck the other laps.) The muddy bike back on the rack:
Craig in his warm gear with his sweet (and muddy) new ride:
I took this one since it was at that point the cheapest gas I'd seen anywhere, but now it's obsolete since prices have kept plummeting. I'll post it anyway to share the time-appropriate excitement:
Hey KImber. Tell me more about the downhill track in Draper. I know nothing about it, since I usually just ride Payson and Provo. Would love to try a couple of new trails.
