Altenberg - Day 2 pictures
I finally got these off of Cassie's camera, so enjoy!
This was outside of the Doner Kabab, where we went for a second lunch after the rest of the group chose to bypass the salmon at the hotel:
I, on the other hand, ate the salmon lunch at the hotel, and so wasn't hungry. "Reading" the menu, I tried out some German and asked the clerk what a certain item was. Turns out it was a type of Turkish apple cider, so I decided to try some. Pretty green, eh? We couldn't decide if it was related more to jello, or to a melted apple jolly rancher:
Here's the lunch Cassie got, the doner kabab with kase (basically a lamb gyro). It's so ginormous that her hands look tiny:
How will she eat it?
Surprise surprise, she couldn't finish it, so I decided to have a bite. Now we HAVE to go back so I can eat one! Delicious.....indescribably so...
When we got back to the hotel, we saw that the housekeepers had made up our bed(s). It's pretty funny - they usually clean up anything on the bed, but but nothing in the floor or tables. I.e., they will fold my nightclothes, and they will put Cassie's stuffed turtle on her pillow. Super cute!
