Minnesota trip 2008
The annual trip to MN to visit Brad's family is, sadly, over, and we're back home and to the grind. Grad school starts next week, so I'm looking at these pictures and reminding myself to relax.
Beautiful sunflower farm on the drive to visit an uncle of Brad's:
They are the size of my head!
I'm terrified of slimy things touching my feet, so I rigged up a seat to keep feet and legs safely high above the underwater plant life:
So calm and scenic:
I really wish I'd had a camera when we were playing around with the canoe. Brad was in it alone, and I turned just in time to see him paddle REALLY HARD, and pull himself right out of the canoe! It didn't capsize or fill with water either, the paddle stroke was so smooth and powerful that instead of the canoe moving Brad pulled himself into the water. Hysterical!
Pretty much we sat in the sun, had actual time to enjoy a good read (unlike home, too busy!), ate lots of bad-for-you-but-oh-so-good foods (banana bars, chocolate cake, bratwurst anyone?), visited with family, and decompressed and unplugged for a couple days. Long weekends are never enough, but it was fantastic.
