Club Race #2
No final word on my grievance yet, though I'm submitting a follow-up letter tomorrow. Otherwise, it's life as usual for us skeletoners.
Saturday was a club race, meaning open to all and less official than other races. I.e. there wasn't a firm Parc Ferme deadline - people were bringing their sleds up until the last minute. We didn't have to slide on FIBT runners, or wear the brush spikes, or have forerunners. It was a blast though - must less stress and just a fun day. In fact, there was a skeleton school the week before, and fifteen newly licensed sliders raced!

The officials - without them, we'd have nothing. Nothing. You hear that? Nothing. These guys are heros.
Nick, a fellow slider, loading his sled at the start. I just love that moment when you are completely disconnected from the sled, getting ready to leap on. Good catch by the photographer.
Brad's push, Nicole cheering in the background and half of my face cheering (on the left).
Brad loading.
Me on the sled on the inrun, looking like a squashed whale from that angle.
Sarah, who weighs less than half of me, making me feel better by also looking whalesque. ;) Just teasing Sarah!
And some sweet video:
My push start. Almost had a personal best push there: 5.36 seconds.
Me hitting out of turn 11 into 12. Okay recovery though...
Brad's push & load.
Brad's 11-12 sequence. Nice!
