Mama's visit

So Mama (Jean) has been visiting her mom (Grandma Joyce) in Reno, NV, for the past 6 weeks. Last weekend was her last weekend in the "lower 48," then she heads back to Alaska, so she and Grandma drove out to visit me in Park City for the weekend. Grin. It was a good time, pictures to come later. And boy are they great pictures, wink.

While they were here, Brad's parents and grandparents and aunts and uncle were also out visiting. This led to some small snafus, with too many alpha personalities trying to make decisions, and my mom / grandma / I feeling excluded, but oh well, it all worked out, the two families got to know each other a bit at least and the weekend was mostly a success. The bar (Rumbunnies) had its grand opening and it went off with only a major hitch or two, overall good.

While my mom was here, I made her go for a bike ride - we rode the Park City Town Lift up and came down Drift Road, and a bit on some singletrack. Somehow, she managed to do a splendid endo on a gravel road, before the steep part! Poor girl, but she made me proud and got right back on the bike. Then, she tipped over and put her foot out to catch herself, and managed to mildly sprain her ankle! We walked a while after that, then she got back on the bike for some flatter sections, and then came the most spectacular crash I've ever seen......
First, a couple pics of her and I riding:

We were coming out of the trees to an open ski run, the end of the ride for us since I intended to walk us down to the road just a short distance below us. Just before she cleared the woods, she tipped over again, but when she put her foot down to catch herself, it hit air! She toppled over into the brush, which crowded a moderate slope (thus the air under her foot, the hill sloped down), and became tangled in the brush and trapped on her back, upside down, unable to move. The only thing she could reach was one thin little branch, but couldn't get enough leverage to pull herself up. I hustled back to her to see such a sight .... she said she felt like a turtle on its back, and she also looked like one, poor thing! To add insult to injury, I waited to help her until I could take a photo.............she'll probably never forgive me! Well, she was laughing and having a good ol' time, so hopefully she's okay with it all.

Pictures to come below sometime soon......okay, here's a crash pic.
