Altenberg - Race Draw

Ok, so a lot of the race will come down to the race draw, and the ice condition. It's typically better to start closer to the front, since there will usually have been a fresh spritz and the fastest ice will be for the first few sleds. This is especially true if it's been snowing, since the snow tends to pile up in the straightaways, and gets deeper the longer it snows. It's supposed to snow tomorrow, sigh, so in a way, I'm already in trouble.

The way it works for the start order for these two races is as follows:

  • Top 10 women based off of the Winterberg race last week, and off of the America's Cup races in November, are shuffled and then randomly drawn into the top 10 spots.
  • The next 10 women, based off the same points, are shuffled and randomly drawn.
  • The next women, who have NO points, are then "shuffled" and drawn.
Well, the good news and the bad news:
  • Bad: I have no points since I skipped the Winterberg race to finish my semester, and skipped the America's Cups for the same reason (I'd already missed 3+ weeks of school for team trials!) Sigh, too responsible! ;)
  • Good: I can't draw worse than 22nd since there are only 22 of us.
  • Bad: I can't draw better than 21st since there are only 2 of us with no points, hah!
  • Good: they usually sweep the start ramp every 5 people, so if I draw number 21, I'll at least be able to get a fast push to help me out in the snow down below.
EDIT: I drew 21 for both races, and they are sweeping to the start eye for everyone. And, we're off to the track. Cheers!
