puppy

So Brad and I've been thinking and talking about getting a dog for a while, and have been keeping our eyes out. We'd pretty much decided on either a standard poodle (NOT a wussie dog, poodles are surprisingly active, smart, fun, loving, etc., can you imagine how cool it would be to be out backcountry skiing with a poodle along?) or a goldendoodle, or a portuguese water dog, since those dogs don't shed / shed less and Brad is minorly allergic. So, we've been checking local shelters and rescues, and I was checking www.petfinder.com for poodles.

During one search, this doggy, Cooper came up, and I just fell in love with him! Isn't he precious?????!!! He's a young goldendoodle with diabetes, :(, that needs two shots a day. Sent the link to Brad, he fell for the dog too, we discussed shots and schedules and health and family and babysitting if we go on trips, and I've joined some dog forums to ask advice, and checked out sites dedicated to dog diabetes, and contacted local vets, and everything.

Sooooooo.......we decided to apply to adopt him! Now it's just the waiting game, waiting to hear back from the rescue if we've been approved, or to arrange interviews and home visits. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but can't help it, he's so cute! We really want him. Not doing any more searches until we hear from the shelter. It's been a week now, and I just left them a message to check on the status of our application, torture to wait!

Edit: In case his page gets taken down sometime, here are two of the pictures:

Such a cute boy!
