new squishy bike / racing
If you read through my other weblog, the semi maybe perhaps retired blog, you'll see where I learned to mountain bike last year. And you'll kind of see how much I've gotten into it over the months - I even think I like biking more than snowboarding and skiing! (SOOOO many people would just KILL me if they heard me say that). But biking is amazing. I'm riding for a shop now, for their amateur team, for fun, but they also hook me up with gear discounts and an incredible deal on a downhill bike. Stinky is such a fun bike, though it's taking a bit to learn how to (properly of course) ride it. Ooooooh what to do with all that suspension! RIDE it of course! Though it's a bit heavy for the roof rack on my car - note the bending tray.
I'm racing Sunday at Deer Valley Resort for the Go-Ride Utah Championship Series in the sport class. I raced beginner for the NORBA race that came through a few weeks ago, but was the only person in my class, and beat a couple of the sport girls and guys so bumped up this race. Nervous though, the course is a lot harder. Steeps, gravel, drops, roots, lots, gravity wells, yadda yadda yadda. A lot of fun, but don't think I'll be quite as fast in this race.
Pics of the new bike and the race to be coming shortly (when I find my camera and download them onto this computer). Sheepish grin. Edit: Here are some pics of me starting to learn my bike.......
And this is me on my old hardtail, pre any rear suspension, jumping at Moab this spring, what, May?
